Keeping your battery full!

Today in Relief Society we had a great lesson on being 'Recharged!'  It was seriously something that I needed... Throughout the discussion all I kept thinking about was how I personally keep myself recharged... in all aspects of my life.  I like to find balance to avoid feeling bombarded or overwhelmed....

So as I kept thinking about it, I figured out that my answer is.... WORKING OUT!  Exercising makes me soo happy!  I love the 'after burn', the out of breath feeling and drinking lots of water after a great work out!

So here's why I needed that lesson today....

Mondays I am 100% at the gym... Tuesdays, I get up a half hour late, run to the gym, do my necessary cardio, then rush home feeling 'at least i went, right?'.  Wednesdays are harder to get out of bed but at least I took up an evening Zumba class... as you can see, it's harder and harder for me until I want to wear those cute jeans or cute shirt that is just NOT flattering anymore...  Saturdays are my long distance running days, but even then, I am exhausted!!

So, my goal this week is to keep my motivation... keep going to the gym... journal my progress and stick to it!

How do you keep motivated??

  1. Hey, how did you do last week? As for me, I did terribly. I went to the gym only once, when my goal is at least 3 times. I did go on walks every day, but short ones. Does going on a shopping trip count? :P I admire all of you women because you work out because you love it. I do love a good work out as well, just for the feel of it, but I think staying in bed sounds much nicer (see my post on un-motivation below). I start of with Monday being excellent and then it goes downhill. I skip Tuesday, thinking, "I'll just go Mon/Wed/Fri", but then I skip Wednesday, too. Why? Don't I know it will feel good and I'll be so happy I went afterwards? It's such a battle. But reading about what you guys all do does help me! Keep posting! I love it, and I wish you all the best this upcoming week! I really need to step up the pace because I'm making sugar cookies this week--frosted!

  2. hahaha! I Robbie! (and Jen) First of all...yes, i think exercising keeps me recharged too. Like when I work out, I feel like a bigger person inside and out...like wow, now I can go read my scriptures and serve others because i have a boost of energy and motivation after working out. Make any sense? And I am such a better wife and mom too. I feel like the quality of my life SHOOTS UP when i get a work out in. So I tell myself...don't I owe it to my husband, kids, and even my heavenly father to stay healthy and hit the gym today so I can be a better person to all of them? ahhah. hope this makes sense
